Fotis is such a great host and person. He goes out of his way to make sure everything about your stay is fantastic. The raki cave is also beautiful and an ideal place to stay in Fira. Very highly recommended!

This cave house was amazing. It is only a few minutes walk from the main square in Fira with all of its bars and restaurants. The cave is an ideal base for getting around the island - the main bus station is less than 5 minutes walk so getting to all parts of the island is easy.
The cave itself was absolutely spotless and was easily the best place I have stayed whilst travelling the Greek islands. There were clean towels every day and my bed clothes were changed during my stay too, it was more like staying in a hotel than self catering accommodation.
Well done to the property manager, transfers to and from the airport were arranged for me, I was met upon arrival and given a tour of the main square so I was immediately able to find everything I could possibly have wanted, I couldn't have been made to feel more welcome.
I would certainly recommend Raki Cave, it was the making of a stress free and comfortable stay in fabulous Santorini.

We had and amazing week in Raki Cave. Its beautifully designed, tastefully decorated and impeccably clean. The location is perfect for exploring Fira but also to use as a base to explore the island. Foti is an excellent host and helped us with ATV rentals and recommending hidden parts of the island to enjoy

The place is spacious and spotless with a charm of a traditional Greek island house. The location is perfect, only 5 minutes walk to the main square. Toiletries, loofas, clean towels every day and an actual private laundry room!!! are some of the things that made our stay so enjoyable. Foti (the host) was always available when we needed advise for places to visit and things to do around the island.

My husband and daughter (15yrs) stayed here for 10 magical days. The place is very close to town, shops and restaurants but away from all the noise. Foti greeted us with a smile and even walked us around town. Immaculate and comfortable with loads of character. Highly recommended!!!

My husband and I were looking for a place to stay in Santorini for a week. Raki Cave was a pleasant surprise, a hidden gem in the middle of Fira offering spacious accommodation in true traditional style. The place was spotless, only a few minutes walk to the centre of Fira and Foti the host couldn't do enough to help during our stay. I would definitely book Raki Cave next time we are in Fira

From the moment we walked through the blue doors at the Painters House we were in heaven! Fotis greeted us with a smile and was so helpful with anything we needed and even supplied us with fruit, milk and bread ( and a bottle of wine ) which was a nice touch.
The house was even better than the pictures on the website and so close to all the action of Fira but in a quiet neighbourhood away from the noise.
It house was serviced every day with clean towels and they made our beds too!!
Definitely the most perfect way to spend the last few days of our 5 week European adventure.
Thanks so much Foti!! We'll be back!

Our family of 6 stayed a week at the Painters villa in July 2015.
A couple of months later, we are all still dreaming about our trip and keep looking at our pictures. The house is perfectly clean and beautiful and the owner Foti is not only welcoming, he is very helpful. His attention to details made our trip extra special.
The villa is located in the heart of Fira, less than 10 minutes walking from all the action.
We have talked about the villa to our friends and family in Canada and we don't have any hesitation to recommand it to anybody.
We enjoyed all the activities like black sand beaches and all the restaurants that the island had to offer.
If your are looking for a life changing trip we strongly recommend going to Santorini, especially the Painters Villa.

The house is beautiful, the decoration and the way the property manager takes care of it, make it possible for the villa to become very comfortable and easy to use.
Moreover, his personal attention and help taking care about us (the car renting, the volcano tour, the first night walk to the city) has made us feel like home.

We so enjoyed staying at Foti's immaculate villa. It has every facility you could wish for amd is beautifully decorated. The terrace is perfect for relaxing and the house is charming. Foti is the perfect host, welcoming us with wine, fruit and savoury pastries. He walked us around home amd suggested places to go. I shall recommend Foti's house to my friends!

Greeted by owner on arrival. The property exceeded our expectations. Beautifully clean. We were provided with literature and personal recommendations for sightseeing and excursions. The White Door Theatre was a pleasant dinner/theatrical experience. Will most certainly book again.

Staying in the Painter's house was in itself a highlight in our short holiday in Santorini! The location is perfect, in the heart of Fira and a few mins drive to the airport. Fotis had been an incredible host, arranging someone to pick us up from the airport and he was waiting already as we arrived to help us with our luggages and to welcome us personally to the accommodation with a bottle of wine, fresh pastries and a bowl of fruits. It was better than in the pictures. The house is beautifully done, characteristic modern-cave ensuite rooms. Fast wifi, fresh towels everyday, clean and spacious, well equipped kitche , rooftop view, pool. Amazing stay. Highly recommended. Thank you Fotis for hosting us!

The most amazing experience!!! Timely pickup from the airport, arriving at a beautifully grecian decorated house. It was so spacious and clean with a big rooftop terrace and pool. We loved the huge ensuites and living area. The house was impeccably clean, as the hosts cleaned it daily with fresh towels provided. They also helped us book tours and showed us fantastic local eats. Thankful and appreciative to have been hosted by Fotis and Ian- they made us feel very welcome and right at home. Would definitely stay here again!!!

My friends and I stayed at the Painters House in July 2015 and we had the most AMAZING experience ever. Everything about this place and the service was absolutely incredible!! You MUST stay here during your visit in Santorini. Location: Excellent location, just a couple minute walk to the heart of Fira town. Service: Foti and his partner cleaned the place each day, which was unexpected but a very nice addition. The Villa: The Villa is gorgeous, spaceous, has an excellent pool where you can relax during the day if you like. The WiFi works very well. The cave-style makes the Villa feel very cozy and comfortable. Final thoughts: During our trip, one of our friends got into an ATV accident and dislocated his shoulder. Foti was extremely helpful during the entire trip. He assisted us with getting medication. He also assisted us with dealing with the ATV company and paying the damages to the ATV. He was compassionate and fantastic. If you are staying in Santorini and this Villa is available, there is NO QUESTION that you should be booking this. It will make your experience unforgettable. Love the Painters House!!!

We can't imagine a better stay in Fira than The Painter's House! It is impecibly and lovingly appointed down to every small detail (loofas in the bathrooms, beach towels, spotlessly clean, lovely furnishings, kitchen and laundry have everything you would need...the list goes on!) If you visit Santorini, staying in a cave house is a must-do and this one is beautiful. It is in a great location--a quiet neighborhood, but a very short walk to the restaurants, bakeries, cafes, bars, and shops in the town center of Fira. Fotis and Ian were fabulously warm and helpful hosts (in fact, Fotis is still helping us find a phone lost somewhere in Santorini even after we have left the island!) They recommended the best local restaurnants and things to do, made reservations for us, and were always available to answer questions and help in any way. We slept like babies in the cool, quiet cave house so we were always well-rested for the many activities we did (hike from Fira to Oia, scuba, sailing trip, dinner theater per Fotis' suggestion, shopping, running, visiting ruins...) Thank you Fotis and Ian for making our visit to Santorini so very enjoyable--we hope to return very soon!

We stayed (a group of four) at the Painters House in June for five nights. The recently refurbished, traditional cave property was fantastic, with three good sized bedrooms, with two ensuite bathrooms & large social spaces & kitchen. The outdoor areas make the house really special, with a cosy courtyard with a table & a large rooftop terrace, with pool, vast social spaces & deck chairs with views of the Aegan sea. The house is also located within a short walk of Fira town centre, making eating/shopping & getting around the rest of the island easy. The review would not be complete without mentioning the owners/hosts of the property. They could not have done more for us & were genuinely helpful & thoughtful throughout. Kind of heart & always there to assist if required, they appear to have thought of everything making our stay extremely comfortable & fun. In summary, the experience was great & would recommend the Painters House if staying in Santorini.

An absolutely beautiful accommodation in the heart of Thira. Fotis and Ian were perfect hosts. Always available and incredibly helpful. They arranged transfers to and from the airport as well transport whilst on the island itself. Highly recommend.

This is an exquisite home; exceeding my expectations. It is beautifully designed and spotless. We were 3 people and were very comfortable and pleased with our cave. The living area is also very inviting for a large group like ours. The area is centrally located so going out in the evenings is easy and safe. We were picked up at the airport and transported to the home where Fotis greeted us. He was available all day for different arrival times.
The design of the home is really beautiful and with a big group there is enough privacy in each room and bathroom. The living space, courtyard and kitchen are perfect. It's centrally located and easy to get to restaurants, shops, and other tourist attractions easily and safely.
Our host was very cordial and responsive to all our questions and requests. I have no recommendation but to keep doing what he's currently doing.

Fotis was a wonderful host! From making sure we were transported to his home from the ferry terminal, to answering all our questions throughout our stay promptly and graciously (where to eat, sites to visit, the best beaches, providing us with beach towels, etc.) to saying good-bye as we left, he made us feel more than welcome. He made sure our refrigerator was stocked with some food for a fortifying snack when we arrived (fresh bread, cheese, fruit etc) and each day when we returned to the house after our adventures, he made sure the house was cleaned.
The house is absolutely stunning, and yet very inviting and comfortable at the same time -- so the aesthetics make it a place you want to come back to in order to relax and recharge for the evening. The history of the house made it all the more fun to stay there (it had been a winery.) The location is perfect -- an easy walk into town and an easy drive to anywhere on the island.
I can't think of one thing Fotis could do differently. He is a warm, welcoming and gracious host. We absolutely loved our stay and would come back and rent from him again in a heartbeat.
